Hi, I'm Victor Terrón
Available for work!

+6 years of experience. PhD Candidate in Computational Sciences · Software Engineer · Researcher.

Software engineer with an MSc in Software Engineering from CIMAT, where I graduated as the top student of my cohort. Currently pursuing a PhD in Computational Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico's leading private university, with a research focus on Large Language Models (LLMs) as judges for software quality evaluation. My work spans software engineering, software quality processes, and the application of AI to software development. I have authored and co-authored publications in journals such as IEEE Access, Applied Sciences (MDPI), and Springer, and hold two granted software copyrights. I have served as a reviewer for IEEE Access and as a scientific committee member for international conferences, including collaborations in cybersecurity research in Peru. I am also a certified expert witness in informatics (perito en informática). I develop primarily in Python using Django, and my professional interests include ISO/IEC standards for software development, technical debt, and LLM-based evaluation frameworks.

About Me

PhD Candidate in Computational Sciences | MSc Software Engineering | Python Developer | Certified Expert Witness in Informatics

I hold a Master's degree in Software Engineering from the Centro de Investigación en Matemáticas (CIMAT), where I was recognized as the top student of my cohort for achieving the highest academic production and GPA (view master's degree document). I also hold a B.Eng. in Mechatronics Engineering from Universidad Tecnológica de Tlaxcala.

I am currently a PhD candidate in Computational Sciences at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Tecnológico de Monterrey), Mexico's leading private university. My doctoral research focuses on the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) as judges for evaluating software quality processes and development artifacts. This work sits at the intersection of software engineering, quality standards, and artificial intelligence.

My research interests center on software engineering, software quality processes (ISO/IEC 29110, ISO/IEC standards for Very Small Entities), technical debt in software development, and the application of LLMs to automated evaluation. I have authored and co-authored publications in IEEE Access, Applied Sciences (MDPI), Springer, RISTI, and Research Square, and I hold two granted software copyrights (FungiRegEx and Bio-Suite-T) registered with Mexico's national copyright office.

I have served as a peer reviewer for IEEE Access and hold an Elsevier Certified Peer Reviewer credential. I have participated as a scientific committee member for international conferences, including CIMPS. My international collaborations include research work in cybersecurity conducted in Peru, resulting in a Springer book chapter on AI in cloud cybersecurity.

I am a certified expert witness in informatics (perito en informática), and I have completed a research stay at the Instituto Nacional de Astrofísica, Óptica y Electrónica (INAOE), where I worked on NLP implementation and pattern recognition in proteomic sequences.

Research & Professional Focus

My professional work spans Python development with Django, software quality standards implementation, AI and NLP model integration in web platforms, project management using agile and traditional methodologies, and AWS infrastructure administration. I have 6 years of professional experience across these domains, supported by certifications in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, KanBan System Design, SCRUM, DevOps, and Google Project Management.
